What happens when Community comes together
Community Living Guelph Wellington and Community of Hearts are partnering on a one-year pilot project with the Independent Hearts program. Five people served by CLGW will have the opportunity to discover and gauge where they are at with independent living in a safe and as-needed supportive environment. Each participant will participate in an eight-week intensive program. While space is limited for the pilot project phase, this partnership nurtures future opportunities for people in Guelph and Wellington County to experience where they are at with their living support needs.

You’re invited to: PERSON-CENTRED SUPPORT
WHAT IT MEANS AND WHY IT’S IMPORTANT TO COMMUNITY LIVING GUELPH WELLINGTON
DID YOU KNOW? Over 400 CLGW employees to date have participated in a mandatory 3-hour workshop on Person-Centred Support. A similar person-centred module, called ‘My Voice. My Choice.’ is presently in development and will be offered optionally to People We Support (PWS) in early spring. We are particularly proud of the fact that ‘My Voice. My Choice.’ training will be led by some people we support interested in public speaking.
Family members are invited to join the conversation. Discover for yourself what person-centred support really means, and why Community Living Guelph Wellington is invested in this training for staff and the people we support.
We hope you are able to make one of the evenings listed below:
- Tuesday March 19, 6-8pm (CLGW Guelph Admin Building, Claire Brown Room)
- Tuesday March 26, 6-8pm (Fergus Community Living Centre, Conference Room)
- Tuesday April 2, 6-8pm (CLGW Guelph Admin Building, Claire Brown Room)
- Tuesday April 9, 6-8pm (Harriston Community Living Centre, Community Room)
