Congratulations Paul on being named 2018 Ontario Special Olympics Coach of the Year
Last week, Paul Turner was celebrated in Toronto, as Ontario’s Male Coach of the Year. Paul has been a major influence in Special Olympics floor hockey and softball over his many years, including 2009 and 2016 World Games appearances, where both teams won silver medals.
His involvement with Special Olympics began 39 years ago, after he witnessed a bullying situation that really bothered him outside of his local YMCA. He was inspired to combine his love of sport and his respect for all people, and decided to volunteer for Special Olympics and help coach programs where athletes could participate in a fun and inclusive environment.
He has inspired many athletes along his long tenure of coaching.
Congratulations Paul. Absolutely well deserved!
