Families and caregivers of people with developmental disabilities are invited to attend an engaging and interactive evening hosted by the Ministry of Community and Social Services, Central Region.
This session will be facilitated by Jim Turner, Executive Director of Community Living Atikokan, and colleagues. This evening will be an opportunity to share experiences and talk about transformation to person centred thinking and practices. Jim will be sharing not only the stories from his agency but from his own family as he has a younger brother who has a developmental disability. Jim grew up watching his parents advocate so that his brother could have the fullest life possible and will share how his brother has succeeded because the family supported him to achieve the things he wanted in life.
Following Jim’s brief presentation, attendees will have a chance to interact on key aspects of person-centred thinking and practices.
