CLGW is part of the Wellington/Dufferin Developmental Services Planning Group. The Planning Group contracted with someone to assist us in gathering information from: current staff of DS agencies, high school students, college students and university students with a view to better understand why people choose our field of work and why they stay. We also want to ensure that we are talking about the advantages of a career in the DS sector to students in grade 8 – 12 so another component of this project will be to work with the school systems more effectively to get the word out about us. We are also approaching Colleges and Universities to ensure that we are well represented there in terms of career opportunities with various post-secondary education courses.

This survey is being conducted as part of a strategy to increase opportunities for the communities of Guelph, Wellington, Dufferin to attract and retain staff within Developmental Services Field . This is an anonymous survey and the results will be used by the ” Awareness and Opportunities in Developmental Services Committee” to guide future efforts to attract and retain staff in their agencies and the field as a whole.
