Memo: WHMIS 2015 E-Training
The Workplace Hazardous Materials Information System (WHMIS) 2015 is Canada’s new national hazard communication standard. This standard is part of the Globally Harmonized System for the Classification and Labelling of Chemicals (GHS) and is being phased in across Canada by December 2018. As part of this transition, all staff must be trained on these updated standards. The training provides information on the new WHMIS 2015 standard and will help you identify the new requirements and changes from your previous WHMIS training.
In the next few days, you will receive an e-mail in your CLGW webmail from postmaster@training.eworkplacetraining.com with login ID and information to complete this required training. The training takes approximately 30 minutes to complete and will show as completed with a grade. You must receive a grade of 75% or higher to pass the exam. If you do not pass you must keep trying the test until you pass. Please note, each test will be different. If you need to leave in the middle of the session, just log out and when you return to finish just log back in using the link and ID and it will pick up where you left off. It will also state in the module that your Supervisor will be notified once you have passed the exam. Actually, I will be notified as the Administrator, not the Supervisor. HR will update the training record in Kronos weekly with notifications that I receive.
Note: If you have received CLGW WHMIS/Fire Training since November 2017 with Kim Aitken and George Wilson (Instructors) then you are not required to complete this e-training as you have already met the requirements and therefore, you will not receive an e-mail from postmaster@training.eworkplacetraining.com. If you are currently on a leave, this training will be set up for you upon your return.
In addition, I have been in touch with Cox Sanitation to ensure all of the Betco products, spray bottles and Safety Data Sheets will meet the requirements by the deadline. I will keep you posted with updates on this. If you have any questions, please just let me know. Thank you!
This mandatory training must be completed by August 31, 2018.
