For the second year in a row, CLGW raised the most money
in support of Big Brothers Big Sisters Guelph Big Squeeze 2019 Event for the
Little Change for Big Change campaign.
A huge shout out to the Event Planning group, the sign
makers and sign carriers, flyer distributers, equipment setter-uppers, lemon
squeezers, stirrers and pourers, and EVERYONE who donated money and baking in
support of this event.
This was a team effort in every way… To those who helped
make this day a success – Thank you!

If you like baseball, laughing, and enjoying a summer evening outside with colleagues and friends, you’re in luck. On August 7, 2019, we will be holding our 4th Annual CLGW Summer Softball Classic. If you are interested in playing, please reply back by July 24th. We will have 2 teams of 12, so the first 24 people to respond will be guaranteed a roster spot. As with previous year’s, the buy-in to play will be a non-perishable food item which will be donated to the GAP to help those in the Supported Independent Living homes.
RSVP to Jonah at jlunod@clgw.ca by July 24th, to reserve you spot.
CLGW is part of the
Wellington/Dufferin Developmental Services Planning Group. The Planning
Group contracted with someone to assist us in gathering information from:
current staff of DS agencies, high school students, college students and
university students with a view to better understand why people choose our
field of work and why they stay. We also want to ensure that we are
talking about the advantages of a career in the DS sector to students in grade
8 – 12 so another component of this project will be to work with the school
systems more effectively to get the word out about us. We are also
approaching Colleges and Universities to ensure that we are well represented
there in terms of career opportunities with various post-secondary education
courses.
Please see the intro and
survey link below and please take a few minutes to answer the 10 questions in
the survey – we would appreciate your feedback! The survey
will remain open until July 15th.
This survey is being
conducted as part of a strategy to increase opportunities for the communities
of Guelph, Wellington, Dufferin to attract and retain staff within Developmental
Services Field . This is an anonymous survey and the results will be used by
the ” Awareness and Opportunities in Developmental Services
Committee” to guide future efforts to attract and retain staff in their
agencies and the field as a whole. Thank you for taking the time to complete
this survey.
Canada’s oldest benefit golf tournament is back, for ONE LAST TIME! Don’t miss your chance to play in the 42nd Annual Norm Jary Golf Tournament, while supporting Community Living Guelph Wellington.
On Monday July 8th, golfers will tee up at Victoria Park Valley Golf Club. In it’s 42nd year, the Norm Jary Golf Tournament has helped raised vital funds for CLGW. From helping the capital campaign for our current location at 8 Royal Rd. to topping up the fundraising for a new adaptive van, money raised at these events is a real difference maker for the people we support. And hey, why not enjoy a day of golf, great people, and good food!
Oh, and it’s the last Norm Jary Golf Tournament. Don’t miss out!
The Vital Signs Report often helps community foundations to determine how to disburse their funds. Vital Signs points to areas in our communities that need a little more support, and services that are bridging gaps.
Your input into their Vital Signs Community Survey will help CWCF with their funding support.
Oh, and you can also win two tickets to Riverfest in Elora. Win-win.
