You are invited to create your own masterpiece. Get creative with your piece of the pie. Each piece will be added to a mural, a collective art project that reflects the power of many becoming one.
Anyone connected to Community Living Guelph Wellington can participate.
You can be a person supported, a staff person, a volunteer, a family member, a caregiver or a friend. You could be someone who lives at home, someone who is supported in one of our residences, or you could live on your own. As long as you’re connected to CLGW, this is for you!
Please share this opportunity with the people you are supporting.
INSTRUCTIONS FOR YOUR PIECE OF THE PIE PROJECT
If you’re interested, contact Karen at karencalzonetti@clgw.ca or at 226-314-0837 and we will get your ‘pie piece’ (it’s a special piece of art paper) to you.
Colour, draw or design the whole square (including the pie shape, and the square).
What you draw, the colours you choose or don’t choose are completely up to you. This is YOUR DESIGN!
Please remember to SIGN your artwork on the back with a pencil. We want to know who did this amazing work!
We will be putting ALL THE PIE PIECES TOGETHER to make a SHARED MURAL!
THINGS TO REMEMBER:
HAVE FUN! You’re the artist! You decide what you want your piece of the pie to look like. Anything goes!
Please only use the paper provided by CLGW. It’s a special piece of art paper.
We recommend using pencil crayons but you can use anything you’d like.
It is helpful that you don’t get your artwork dirty. Take care of it!
Someone who works for CLGW will pick your artwork up when you’re finished.
We would like to have all of the finished pieces of the pie collected by Thursday July 28, 2022.
On behalf of Community Living Guelph Wellington, I have both the pleasure and sadness to announce the retirement of our Director of Service, Debb Young.
Debb is a well-known face here at CLGW, dedicating more than 39 years of thoughtfulness, expertise and skill to the services we provide. Debb’s collaborative leadership, and experience in developmental services has helped shape our organization, and she has been integral to our success and growth.
Her tenure began as a Direct Support Professional and Debb has held a variety of roles within CLGW over her years. She has dedicated her entire career to developmental services and CLGW. Through her time, she has seen a lot of change and growth. Debb was our historian and an incredible person-centred champion. She is known for her compassion, her innovative approach to finding the right solution, and her good natured-ways of always being available for others.
For all of this and so much more, we are grateful for Debb’s time, commitment, and leadership.
Debb’s retirement is effective as of June 29, 2022.
To help us send Debb off on a happy note, we are hosting two gatherings to celebrate her accomplishments. We will celebrate in:
Guelph on Tuesday, June 28 from 10am-11:30am at 8 Royal Rd.
Harriston on Wednesday, June 29 from 1pm-3pm at 106 Thomas St.
On behalf of Community Living Guelph Wellington, please join me in wishing Debb a happy and relaxing retirement. Thank you, again, for all that you have done with and for CLGW, through your dedication and guidance as a leader. We wish you all of the best in this next phase of your life.

We are currently looking to recruit an instructor to join the Nonviolent Crisis Intervention team in training our employees. This will be in addition to your current position and responsibilities.
The person will be required to attend training for the position. To get a sense of the training process, follow the link and open one of the Nonviolent Crisis Intervention Training programs offered: https://www.crisisprevention.com/Training-and-Events
We are seeking an instructor who is flexible to changes in schedule. As we continue to build our onboarding process, there may be a need to train on evenings and weekends. The estimated time commitment is 2 training sessions per month: 8 hours for a Full Certification session and 4 hours for a Re-certification session.
Considering that this is a high cost and time investment, we expect a two-year commitment from the successful candidate.
If you’re interested, please send your application expressing your interest in the position and outlining your teaching/facilitating experience.
Contact your Supervisor to discuss how to accommodate the additional hours and make sure they agree to this. Supervisors’ acknowledgment needs to be included in the application.
Candidates may be contacted for an interview. Please send your application to Marcy Glass by Friday September 24, 2021. Any questions you may have about the position may also be directed to Marcy.
CAMH is interested in learning about your experiences in supporting adults with developmental disabilities during COVID 19.
CAMH invites you to take part in this short online survey to better understand the impact of the pandemic on your work. This information will help us determine staff needs and provide tailored support for staff at this time and in the future.
