Employee Wellness Matters!

Have you heard the buzz?! Community Living Guelph Wellington is pulling together for employee wellness.

Throughout the year, we will be hosting fun events for employees, and hope that you will join us! Take some time to decompress, dive-in to self-care activities, while strengthening your relationships with others in our organization?

Oh, and did we mention there’s a prize?!

For every Wellness Matters event you attend, you can collect a ballet to enter into our year-end draw for…. a day off with pay! We’ve heard that a little extra vacation time is a great way to really enjoy your self-care routine.

Thanks to the incredible champions from all of our necks of the woods, including the North Wellington, the Eastern town of Erin, and the southern urban streets of Guelph, you will find Wellness Matters events right in your backyard.

All Wellness Matters events are best enjoyed on your lunch break or on your time, and are not considered working hours.

Our first event is here!

Join the CLGW Walking Warriors on October 29th for an lunch-time autumn walk.

Erin – with Brigitte Homma at the Community Living Centre – Erin
Mount Forest – with Brenda Baker at The Old Arena
Guelph – with Darlene Holton and Laura Kirk at the Royal City Park Bandshell

All walks will begin at 12:00pm.

Should it there be inclement weather, we will reschedule to Friday, November 1st at noon.

All Wellness Matters events are best enjoyed on your lunch break or on your time, and are not considered working hours.

If you have any ideas or feedback for the Wellness Committee, please connect with Laura Kirk or Darlene Holton.

Come take a RIDE with us

A little fall air. A brisk walk or bike ride. Raising funds for the people we support and the work we do.

On October 5th, join the CLGW RIDE for Refuge team, as we raise important funds that will help enhance the supports and services we provide for the people we support.

Interested? You have two options!

  1. Register and ask your friends and neighbours to donate to your walk or ride. For every donation over $20, that person will receive a tax receipt to use against their income tax. For CLGW supporters, the average donation has been $46, meaning you will only need 4 donors to reach the minimum fundraising target of $150. EASY! And just to add some fuel to how easy it has been, one RIDER has raised all of their funds through social media.
  2. Register to walk or ride, and pay a nominal registration fee. This fee covers your RIDE t-shirt, and any other cool perks you’ll receive on October 5th.

Get signed up: https://rideforrefuge.org/register

Click the FIRST TIMER button, choose Waterloo Region if you want to join other CLGW walker/riders, sign the waiver, and….

  • Register as an individual if you want to just fly solo
  • Join a team if you want to be with a group (the Community Pedalars is the team name for our CLGW participants)
  • Create a team if you and some friends want to just do your own thing, together!

And then just follow the next steps, and you’re good to go!

Any questions or concerns, reach out to Annie at annieknight@clgw.ca.

Let’s do this!
